Murder

Murder was a performance of a folk ballad sung in the ground level of Newton Castle during a residency in Ballyvaughn, Ireland which told the story of two sisters, one of whom drowned the other so that she could marry a prince who did not love her. The supporting installation mimicked the patchwork-like quality of the sea and local landscape.  The basement level of castle was selected for its echoing acoustic quality. Makeup, a hair cone, stilts and a garment sewn from an up-cycled drop cloth and upholstery were used in costuming.
